When your home becomes infected with black mold you essentially have three options going forward. You can take care of the problem yourself, you can contact a professional to remove the mold, or you can not do anything. Not doing anything shouldn’t be a real option because black mold is a serious problem that can cause major health issues. Contacting a professional black mold removal company may be a good option, but in all likelihood this is going to cost a significant amount of money, a sum that you may, or may not have available. The best option has to do with taking care of the problem yourself, and to do so properly you are going to have to acquire the best black mold removal products you can to clean up, and get rid of the mold.
The good news is that there are a multitude of black mold removal products that can help you get the job done, and as long as you’re willing to put in the time to use these products correctly you should be able to eliminate the mold from your home without much of an issue. The major options you have when it comes time to select a mold removal product involves your willingness to either buy an all-in-one cleaning agent that doesn’t have to be mixed with anything else, or your preference to purchase a substance that needs to mixed with another agent. There is no shortage of ready-made disinfectants that you can buy at almost any home-centered retail store, and the important thing is that you get something that is potent enough to do the job.
There are times when it makes more sense to begin with a pure agent, and then mix it with another solvent to create the desired potency you need to eliminate the mold completely. This is actually the route that might be a better choice if you truly want to go about practicing authentic do it yourself mold removal, and by following the subsequent “recipes” you should be able to create the exact potency you need for any agent you plan on using.
The most common kind of homemade cleaning agent consists of mixing pure bleach with water, as this will create a potent mixture of pure chemical and solvent that should be able to disinfect the majority of black mold that is out there. The standard mixture consists of one cup of bleach mixed with one gallon of water, although you can increase or decrease each part if you want either a higher or lower potency. Any brand of bleach should do, and it is important that you wear the appropriate protective gear and equipment when you make the decision to use this substance, as bleach can have a detrimental effect if not handled properly.
If you aren’t comfortable with using bleach, then there is a whole assortment of other black mold removal products that you can either purchase outright, or create on your own. The first is a combination of vinegar and water in a 50/50 equivalency, as this can be almost as effective as water and bleach. If you don’t want to mix the vinegar with water that is fine too, as you can even use pure vinegar if that is something you feel better about doing. Next we have tea tree oil, as this substance is very effective against a variety of different types of mold. The downside is that it has a strong smell and high cost, but if this doesn’t frighten you away then the best way to use it is by mixing one teaspoon of active ingredient with one cup of water.
Next we have hydrogen peroxide, this is a cheap alternative that doesn’t have to be mixed with anything and can rather simply be applied to a cloth or sponge for easy use. Next we have lemon juice, and it is important that you use this substance in its pure state for it to be the most effective. Finally we have borax powder, as this is best used when mixed with one cup of water and one tablespoon of active ingredient. These have been just some of the best home black mold removal products that can get rid of your mold problem, and if used properly they can help you eliminate the black mold that is in your place of residence without much of an issue.
